Getting photographers face-to-face in a small, lab-like setting allows them to better learn techniques and practice with those who have successfully used the skills being taught. And the next chance to experience this is coming to photography studios around the country May 17, with PPA's "Super Monday" event.
"Events like Super Monday prove the willingness many PPA photographers have to share success stories and tips of the trade. Such education is vital and is what PPA is all about," says Louis Tonsmeire, Cr.Photog., API, PPA's president. "The best camera in the world won't compensate for poor technique. Producing a quality product in photography--like other professions--requires constant training and mentoring. That is what we can offer here."
Super Monday features educational classes around the nation, hosted by professional photographers for photographers. These classes are designed to be hands-on and deliver practical knowledge that students can put to work immediately. A wide variety of subjects are available in many cities, so photographers (and those who seek to learn photography) can find the education they want at almost any skill level. Classes feature instruction on posing and lighting techniques, business and marketing training and better use of software tools (like Adobe® Photoshop®, Adobe Indesign® and Corel® Painter™).
Attendees will also receive bonus packs filled with valuable coupons for products and services from photographic industry sponsors.
To find out more, or to register for spring 2010 Super Monday opportunities, visit www.ppa.com/supermonday.
(Keep in mind that some of these classes are offered a few days before or after the main May 17th date, so look at each individual class for details.)
