Slate.com launches its new Artist of the Month gallery with work by reknowned landscape photographer Edward Burtynsky.
Called "the Ansel Adams of the ruined landscape", Burtynsky is know for his large format studies of landscapes wracked by the scars of industry. Most recently he has documented the devastation caused by the construction of the Three Gorges Dam in China. This work is the subject of his forthcoming book, Edward Burtynsky: China and a solo show at the Charles Cowles Gallery in New York, opening Oct. 6.
Check out the gallery and story on Slate.com, and check out his website at www.edwardburtynsky.com.
