San Francisco, CA – May 16, 2006 – The people in the know; the people you want to know. The Great Communicators. This inspiring and award-winning collection of photo cards designed as a self-promotional direct mail piece by Mel Lindstrom to showcase his talents was so well-received, he is launching a second series that features art directors.

The Great Communicators is a collectible card series featuring photographs of influential people from the design, advertising and marketing industries. Each month Lindstrom sent a handful of new cards to contacts across the country. Recipients were encouraged to place the collectible photo cards in a display panel sent with the first set of cards. The first person to complete the collector card display and call it in to Lindstrom was the winner of a free iPod Photo. Phil Brooks, Art Director of Creative I took home the iPod. To become a featured Great Communicator, contact Lindstrom with a great project.

The second Great Communicators series is a similar campaign highlighting art directors. The intention of the ongoing promotional series is to increase awareness about Lindstrom, his SOMA studio and his creative talents by engaging people in collecting his cards. The first series of new cards will be sent immediately following the present portfolio series that is being distributed. The next series will have a winner in each major advertising market.

The Great Communicators series recently received top honors from the Silicon Valley and San Francisco Ad Clubs, receiving ADDYs® from both. The series has since gone on to win at the regional competition and take a Silver ADDY® at the nationals.

“With nearly 2,000 entries from across the country, this is quite an honor,” said Lindstrom about the national award. “The ADDYs® are a stiff competition reflecting the best of the best creative pieces in the art of advertising.”

Lindstrom is an accomplished, award-winning commercial photographer based in San Francisco. He is also an instructor at the Academy of Art in San Francisco, and a sought-after guest speaker for his expertise in the field of photography.
