Beginning July 1, gaining meaningful remedies for copyright infringement will get a little more expensive. The Copyright Office is raising rates from $30 to $45 for both individual and group registrations. Some other fees have increased as well; the Copyright Office has more here.
Remember, you may have a copyright form the moment the work is created, but that right is almost impossible to enforce in court unless you the work is registered with the Copyright Office prior to the infringement or within three months of the first publication of the work.
