The Golden Light Awards is an international competition which recognizes the work of the world's emerging photographers. It is the aim of this award to support exceptional personal vision and encourage photographers to continue their exploration of the world around them. The Award includes a variety of opportunities for professional and semi-professional photographers, students, educators and amateurs to receive recognition and prizes, as well as tuition grants for Master Classes at the Maine Photographic Workshops.
This year, we're having a High School Student Portfolio Competition. There is a $15 entry fee, but the winner receives full tuition for a Young Artist Workshop here in Maine. The submitted portfolios should consist of 6-12 images. Projects may include any genre or medium of photography, including traditional photojournalism, documentaries, photographic essays picture stories, book projects as well as new and old photographic processes.
Deadline for entries is 5 p.m., Friday, June 16, 2006. Visit www.goldenlightawards.com for complete details.
