Ask Trish Logan Anything!

By Aleighia Rouse

If you have been hanging out on theLoop, then you have noticed the great conversations that have been going on with Imaging USA 2016 speaker Trish Logan

Beyond being an award winning photographer, Trish has committed her life to helping her clients, her industry and the rising photographers with whom she can share her knowledge. She is also an expert at knowing and teaching others how to secure their business in the marketplace to produce high volume revenue.

Here are some of our favorite moments with Trish Logan providing helpful advice and tips for the industry:

On handling social media presence:
"I find that even though there have been lots of changes, Facebook is still my best place for getting exposure. The seniors are on Instagram and Twitter. Trust me, I have a 16 year old. I do find that the Moms and grandparents are still on Facebook and they are the ones that ultimately are paying you. I think using any or all of these is really good."

On balancing running a studio and photography schools:
"My studio is located in Maine. I spend my entire summer photographing outdoors in spring, summer and fall. Adding school business to my studio allows me to keep working even after the weather turns cold. If you live in a part of the country where your work might be seasonal, I absolutely recommend adding events, programs and other services that will bring income and help you weather the winter months. Think about winter sports, church directories, corporate head shots and more.  The work is there we just have to think out of the box!

Advice on helping high school senior clients feel confident and at ease:
"Making Seniors feel incredible is what it's all about. I talk to my seniors the entire time I am photographing them. I show them the back of my camera and build confidence with them. Not only that they look great but that I can make them look great if they trust me. It's all about the way they feel when you are with them. News travels fast good or bad is all in how they feel they were treated."
