Orlando photographer Erika Barker taps into her rich experience as a US Armed Forces combat photographer and her extensive graphic design education and experience for her current work in Portrait photography, Commercial photography, Model photography, Fashion photography, Photojournalism and, most recently, Wedding photography. “My graphic design educational focus and experience provide me an edge for my work.. Not only do I integrate the foundational elements of great compositions such as lighting, symmetry, contrast and depth into the “shooting” of a photo, I anticipate what can be done later through creative and solid post editing techniques (Photoshop or CG elements.) By utilizing these features after the photo is recorded, this combination of pre- and post-photographic skills and knowledge enables me to make photographs that ‘pop’ -- without overdoing it with cheesy effects..
