Taking the plunge into the International Photographic Competition this year—or thinking about it? Then join us in classes around the country for a step-by-step guide to the big day!

The Photographic Competition Education Day is a class that will demystify the competition process from beginning to end. And you’ll learn it all directly from PPA-approved jurors, the perfect instructors to help you understand the ins and outs of competition:

• Learn how to best prepare and present your images, including an overview of the all-important 12 elements of a merit image (what judges look for during competition).
• See how the competition process works, from submission and judging to the next steps to take.
• Discover how to get even more help with your competition entries.
• Learn the necessary shipping details, including deadlines, digital file uploads and image packing.
• Find out what competing can bring your way, from publishing and marketing opportunities to strengthening your skills as a photographer.
• Receive reviews and constructive critiques that will help you fine-tune your own images. (Please bring 6-8 sample images to the class for reviews and critiques. Digital files or prints (up to 16x20) are acceptable.)
