Ever notice that a senior guy never opens up with his mom in the room? That’s because he is often wired that way.  Mike Ridinger has learned to work around most of these “problems”…and he’s going to share how during this online class.

Learn the rules of Mike’s camera room, how he connects with the senior at the very start, and what parents need to understand to get the best possible senior portrait.  You’ll see Mike’s way of talking to the seniors to get the poses he wants, making them feel at ease getting their portraits taken. But it all comes down to how the client feels. At the end of a session, Mike knows he’s done his job when a senior boy shakes his hand and thanks him for a great time. Come learn how you can earn similar reactions from your senior clients!

Mike RidingerAbout Mike:

Mike has been a full-time photographer for over 25 years and has received numerous awards.  Currently the president of the Professional Photographers of Idaho, he is also active in the Jackson Baldwin Pay It Forward Foundation.  After teaching at Light Pro Expo for several years (and at several state and local affiliates), he became a part of After Dark, demonstrating his lighting and posing styles in a hands-on environment. Mike has a knack for teaching in a way that is easy to understand and is a popular instructor everywhere he goes.

Mike and his wife Jessica, who is also the studio manager, recently opened a new studio (KidzPiks) two doors down. KidzPiks caters to children 12 and under to fill their clients’ needs for something better than Sears three times a year, while still going to Mike for more involved sessions once a year.

He and Jessica currently have two boys, Keaton and Cade, and that will stay that way unless there is divine intervention.
