Get to Know the Instructors... Tamara Lackey & Lisa Walter
Tamara Lackey: With a background in business consulting, Tamara moved into photography six years ago and now runs a highly successful, associate-based studio in North Carolina, with an emphasis on portraits, weddings, and editorial work. Released in November 2008, her new book, The Art of Children's Portrait Photography (Amherst Media), is currently one of the top three best-selling titles in the publisher's extensive catalogue.
An award-winning photographer, Tamara’s images have been described as expressive, authentic, and moving. Her work has appeared in a variety of publications, including Vogue, O Magazine, Town & Country, Martha Stewart Living, Elle, Inside Weddings, and Parenting magazine. Her photography has been showcased on “The Martha Stewart Show,” and she has been repeatedly profiled in Rangefinder magazine.
Lisa Walter: Lisa spent fourteen years in corporate sales and marketing, designing promotions for packaged good companies. In her position as Vice President of Sales, she managed 60 employees across ten regional sales offices throughout the Americas. Three years ago, Lisa joined Tamara Lackey as her Studio Director and is responsible for overseeing all studio operations, client management, and employee hiring, management, and retention.
