Delve into the world of fine art animal portraiture, and learn how to separate your professional pet portraits from the crowd.  With Stephanie Millner, you’ll discover everything needed to start out in this niche photography market, including what you'll need to begin working with pets, animal training and safety…and how to tell if pet photography actually is right for you. You’ll even learn the basics of lighting and posing for these four-legged friends, and the correct way to control animals in a studio or location environment.

There’s a special art to good pet portraiture, and Stephanie will share her master touch—so don’t miss this chance!

Stephanie MillnerAbout Stephanie:

Stephanie Millner, Cr.Photog., CPP, owns and operates a residential portrait studio in Rome, Italy. As her focus is on pets and animal photography, she works closely with many local animal shelters to help place homeless pets in their forever homes. She is an award-winning and Certified Professional Photographer with special certification endorsements in weddings and (pet) portraiture. Her images were accepted in the Showcase Collection XVI, and all four of her 2010 International Photographic Competition entries were accepted into the Loan Collection. Stephanie has even been invited to do a solo gallery exhibition of her pet work at the American Embassy to Italy’s private gallery inside the Palazzo Margherita (Roma), and she is currently working on a line of high-end destination pet portraiture to debut in Italy in 2011.

Stephanie lives in Italy with her husband, Dave, and her Shetland Sheepdog, Hailey.  Although she can allegedly speak Italian, she consistently makes egregious and embarrassing translation mistakes.  These include telling a client her "spoon" was cute (meaning puppy), and has once ordered a set of bed linens (lenzuoli) instead of raspberries (lamponi) at the local market, gathering strange and bewildered looks from the vendors.  Stephanie's hobbies include traveling, reading, and procrastinating on Facebook with other photographer friends.  Somehow, she considers this "work time," although she hasn't quite justified it yet.
