Jen Hillenga believes that EVERY woman—no matter what she looks like, no matter what size—deserves to feel gorgeous. That belief translates into her boudoir photography. When working with boudoir clients, it is vitally important that you, as a professional photographer, set the tone for the session and give every woman a safe place to be beautiful, sexy and fabulous.  So, come make it possible!

In her webinar, Jen will discuss the psychology of shooting boudoir, how to evoke the most emotion from your clients, and how to create an atmosphere in which your client feels comfortable.  She’ll show you the correct way to light and pose the feminine form, creating images that flatter every body shape.  You’ll even learn about using post-production to enhance positive features and minimize any flaws. Above all, Jen will show you that a beautiful photograph of a woman is about capturing her essence, her best features and (most importantly) her confidence!

Jen HillengaAbout Jen:

With a bachelor’s degree in Fine Art and Graphic Design, Jen Hillenga, M.Photog.Cr.,  began her career in photography in 1997, working for three different portrait studios before opening her own business in Savage, MN, in 2004. By aggressive marketing, she and her partner, Kate Thram, have become one of the leading studios in their area in a very short amount of time. In the last few years, Jen has been able to master her skills not only as a photographer, but also as a digital artist, gaining national recognition among her peers. She has been named Minnesota Photographer of the Year in 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2010, was a Kodak Photographer to Watch in 2007, and has earned her PPA Master of Photography and Photographic Craftsman degrees. Most recently, Jen was awarded the Golden Camera Award from the Federation of European Photographers by having the highest scoring body of work by an international entrant.

In 2008, with an additional business partner, Jack Cosentino, Kate and Jen established an online superstore for professional photography products called JensFabulousStuff.com. The store has quickly become the leader in online professional products for photographers around the world and holds products from over 65 artist contributors that represent “the best talent in the industry.”

Jen focuses on the story behind each image and the internal as well as external beauty of each subject by relating to clients with sensitivity and humor. She strives to create imagery that moves the viewer creating moments of poetic expression that touch your emotions. She believes in scheduling time as "artist days" to be creative, making sure that you are photographing for yourself, remembering to be true to the artist in you, and creating images that make you happy.
