In the first part of this two-part class, PPA Instructor Jen Hillenga went over high-level posing tricks. Now, get down to the details as she examines all the different poses you should include in your shoot so your female clients look stunning!

Get a refresher on the basics—moving from close-up to full length, placing the light on the subject, the expressions to capture from standard and traditional to fun and edgy.

Learn how to put your client at ease and let her have fun with all these posing tips! Show her how to tilt her chin, arrange her hair, or kick out her hip for a great effect. Capture her many expressions as you photograph her facing the camera, looking up, looking down, laughing, smiling and serious.

Jen then discusses the specifics of standing and sitting poses: How to position feet and hands, how your client should stand, what she does with her hair, and how to use a chair as an effective prop. As a photographer, you’ve heard your clients say, “I don’t know what to do with my (fill-in-the-blank body part)!” Now you’ll have the answers!

We value your feedback and want to know how we can improve. Please share your thoughts about the class here.
