You’re an artist, you’re a photographer…but you’re still running a business. And if you can’t manage your money, you won’t be a business very long.

In the first part of this two-part video series, Scott Kurkian, CFO for PPA, walks you through what you need to know to be a great businessperson, not just a great photographer. Some of the topics he discusses include:

    • What managerial accounting is and how it helps your business. If you thought it was the same as tax preparation, then you’ve already learned something!
    • Areas you need to be able to knowledgeably discuss with your accountant. Have you talked about product pricing, overhead costs and cost of sales? After this class, you’ll know how.
    • The Four Elements of Managerial Accounting – Scott not only educates you on these; he shows you actual examples that will help you as a businessperson.

Even if you think you know what you’re doing, this class is sure to fine-tune your accounting knowledge. And, for those of you who hear the infamous “Wah wah wah wah wah” (aka, the Charlie Brown teacher voice) whenever the subject of accounting comes up – go ahead and watch it TODAY!

We value your feedback and want to know how we can improve. Please share your thoughts about the class here.
