Go on location and discover how to manage light to create incredible environmental portraits. In this class, you’ll learn how to create simple and consistent lighting that you can use throughout the day.

You’ll discuss topics such as:

  • Controlling light, regardless of the time of day or conditions.
  • Shooting outdoor fashion and the equipment you need for this type of photography.
  • Selecting the ideal location and subject placement.
  • Light placements that result in the best portrait lighting.

Whether you’re using one light or many, you’ll discover how to consistently and expertly light your subjects, in any condition, at any time, any place. And once you can do that, there’s no limit to where you will go!

Successful imagery isn’t just about luck and “finding” a good shot. It begins with identifying the best lighting, determining spatial dynamics and composition, and finally, posing your subjects in a way that works. In this class, Ruth Clegg and Diane Miller Yeatman work with students in the historical backdrop of The Providence Art Club and the East Side of Providence, as you learn to apply all these elements for amazing images! With a cityscape that you can’t beat, you’ll practice enhancing and perfecting your portrait style in ways you never imagined!
