Why let workflow issues slow you down? This class shows you how to be just as amazing away from the camera as you are behind the lens!

Start with a live photo session in studio and on location, practicing basic to intermediate portrait techniques. Then, the real fun begins as Instructor Wayne Tarr takes you through what a successful digital workflow process should be. You’ll cover everything from downloading and archiving files through editing and RAW file conversion to preparing photos for proofing and retouching. You’ll finish the day in Photoshop, learning how to create files for fine art enlargements.

Never again will you struggles with version control or file organization or get bogged down in the office when you want to be in the studio. Take this workshop and take control of your workflow process and your life.

Certification Preparation: A Day of Practical Experience

This class will be a photo safari-type course that teaches and practices the lessons needed to pass the PPA Certified Professional Photographer portfolio review and test. The day will be split between indoor studio lighting and outdoor exercises consisting of models for students to photograph. While certification requires many areas of study, this 1-day course will focus on parts that many photographers struggle with.

Lessons will be given on topics such as:

  • Lighting styles
  • Ratios
  • Using a light meter
  • Exposure values
  • Zone system
  • White balance temperatures
  • Colors and harmony
  • Lenses and purposes and perspectives
  • Sensors - types and differences

Students are encouraged to bring work that they are considering to submit for the CPP portfolio review. CPP Liaisons Mark Sweeney and Jon Adams will review the portfolios and provide feedback.

This class is all about the senior experience. Photographers Jon Adams and Mark Sweeney will lead you through a hands-on senior shoot where creativity and technique is pushed to the max. The day will be split, with the morning dealing with natural light photography and the afternoon using off camera flash. During lunch we will talk about marketing and pricing strategies.

  • Use of light modifiers
