Learn how to create beautiful studio lighting – outside the studio! During this course, you'll discuss the techniques that make for great lighting and then spend the afternoon bringing them to life. Work with live models as you utilize modifiers, speed lights, pocket wizards and more to create the lighting you want for your portraits. Everything will be provided so all you need is your camera, an open mind and an appetite to learn!

Lighting is the focus of this day, but we'll break for lunch at a local eatery as you discuss business tactics and marketing strategies that can help you build your career and your studio.

Lori DiBiase

Students will start by setting up computers and learning some basic Photoshop painting skills. We will photograph a couple models using basic studio lighting and very simple, basic backgrounds. All equipment needed to use the studio lighting will be provided. We will then take these images into Photoshop and learn how to take ordinary images and create extraordinary painted portraits, using only Photoshop as the software for post processing. Everyone will leave with images and model releases so they can use them in their marketing materials.
