Even if you're comfortable photographing babies, add cake and many photographers balk. However, you could be missing out on a rather lucrative market segment – marking a baby's milestones with a little sugar and sprinkles!

In this class, you'll learn everything you need to know to have a successful Cake Smash session for 6 month and 1 year olds and up. Discuss the importance of the pre-session consultation and how that sets the expectation for the entire experience. Explore themes,pieces and products that every parent loves.  

Then, interact with some little subjects, as you get to shoot a session with both a 6 month and 1 year old. Learn Brooke Moxley's "go to" poses, and how to make even the grumpiest baby smile.

When you're done with this class, you'll have the knowledge and the creativity that will make parents and babies alike love your Cake Smash Sessions!

This class is an information-packed, hands-on workshop, designed to teach all aspects of lighting. Over the course of the day, you'll walk through everything from basic, one-light setups to complicated combinations, using gels, fog and more!

Start with one light, discussing the four common lighting patterns, broad and short light. Then, branch into various types of lights, modifiers and what each piece adds to your setup. You'll work both inside the studio and outside, exploring various lighting systems to use. Learn also how to analyze facial features so as to put your client in the best light possible – literally!
