Searching for Some Light Safari
Register on-site, space permitting. Contact instructor.

Course #NY05
Dana Nordlund, Cr.Photog., CPP
Stephanie Cunningham, Cr.Photog., CPP

Ready for an exciting, hands-on safari? PPA instructors Dana and Stephanie will lead you on a journey to discover and address the problems that can arise when searching for light. Bring your gear and be ready to tackle any obstacle with your guides!

Someone once asked Arnold Newman if he worked with available light. He answered, "Oh yeah, I work with tungsten, studio flash, window light and out in the bright sun, whatever is available.” With direction from Stephanie and Dana, you will join the search for beautiful, soft, available light found within many different photographic scenarios. After all, it's all about the simple and effective mechanics of lighting.

This program will allow you to seamlessly work with available light and add in artificial light – all while keeping the natural look! Working with reflectors, diffusion, flash, custom white balance and hand-held metering also will be included in this full day of education.

The day will include time for shooting outside with and without flash, inside by window light, and in a studio setting. Have your gear and questions handy to gain the most from this workshop!
