Close-up and Macro photography involve an overlap of techniques and approaches; even the creative aspects and post-processing have many similarities. However, in this class, you’ll focus on some of the differences as you delve into the intensity of Macro photography. Discuss the special equipment needed, and more importantly, how to be the artist behind the equipment.Explore concepts like overcoming movement, lighting pitfalls and artistic vs. clinical creations. Delve into the differences between dedicated and converted Macro photography lenses, discuss photo stacking and walk through post processing techniques.

Start on the common ground and discover how these two genres diverge.  Move from “theatergoer” to producer of your own works of art!

You don’t have to have big equipment to get big results!  In this class, Instructors Jason and Jamie Turner demonstrate how simple, lightweight speedlights and tools can give you the beautiful lighting that you want in your images.  Spend some time in the classroom as you discuss the different options available, what they can do and how to use them.  Then, step into the studio for a hands-on fashion shoot!  Using live models, you’ll learn how flash modifiers, reflective umbrellas and other user-friendly lights can help you create the single and multiple light scenarios you want.
