CPP Liaison News February 2017

February 2017

Happy New Year to all of the CPP Liaisons! The year is well underway and many of you have already scheduled exams and ordered CPP Awards.

Thank you to those who were able to attend the CPP Liaison meeting at Imaging USA in San Antonio. If you were not able to attend the meeting, we will address few important updates and notes that were addressed at the meeting.

Image Submission Update

New Image Submission guidelines take effect with the February 2017 Image Submission.

  • Portfolios that do not pass but which have images passed by ALL FIVE judges will be carried over to the next Image Submission. Candidates will no longer be required to re-submit passed images. They will only need to submit new images to replace the ones which did not pass unanimously.
  • Passed images from Image Submissions prior to February 2017 will not count.
  • Once a candidate has exhausted THREE rounds of image submissions, their portfolio will be wiped clean and will have to start all over again (this will also apply for candidates opting-in for re-candidacy).

So It's Time to Re-Certify

Remember to complete your CPP Re-Certification Form before your certification expires. CPPs must recertify every three years to maintain their credential. CPPs eligible for recertification will receive three notices during the year they are due to recertify, two via email and one via mail.

District Photographic Competitions

It's time for District Photographic Competitions! Are you planning to enter in your district? Rules, registration dates and all the details can be found at PPA.com/Districts.

Super 1 Day Photo Workshops

Registration for the May Super 1 Day photo workshops opens on Thursday, March 2. Classes will be held around the country from May 8-22 and taught fellow professional photographers. This will be a great opportunity for to gain continuing education units for your recertification.

Upcoming CPP Prep Classes

With the year 2017 well underway, candidates can now look forward to attending upcoming CPP Prep Classes. As candidates are starting to prep for the CPP exam and starting to inquire about prep classes, please guide them to the Certification Prep Class page. Additional dates and cities will be added so please check for updates.
