Longs Peak Dusted in Snow

Description}: On Oct, 2, 2012 I hiked past this location on my way back from Emerald Lake. An early fall snow storm had dusted the mountain tops the weekend before. The afternoon light was illuminating the snow very nicely. Longs Peak at 14,259 looms in the center. Hounds Tooth Ridge and Chiefs Head at 13,579 to the right. Mount Lady Washington peeks up just to left of Longs. 1.61 Gigapixels 24000 x 12000 pixels 40" x 80" 300 ppi original image size

Description}: In July two of my fishing buddies and I hiked to this location to do some fly fishing. We all were taken by the beauty of the mountains and the meandering stream. I had left my camera back at the camper. My one friend had just returned from Yosemite and he noted that this area reminded him of Yosemite. I made a mental note to myself that I needed to come back in the Fall. On September 15, 2012 my wife and I hiked back to capture the scene in Fall Colors. This is one of the largest panoramas I have done. The original image is: 2.7 Gigapixels 27131 x 17787 pixels 60" x 90" 300 dpi original image size

Description}: Sept. 2012, I took the day off from work. A snow storm was predicted for the weekend and I wanted to make one more trip to the park to capture some fall colors before the storm blew the leaves off the Aspens. I hiked up the trail toward Beirstadt Lake. This is the view I found about half way up the first ridge. I setup and took this shoot before the sun got too high. one of my favorites for the year.
