pdf download problem Mac/Firefox

Trying to open pdf files posted in the forums, but come up with a blank in Firefox on Mac OSX Jaguar. Tried Ctrl-clicking, and comes up with php link instead...
Luckily I have a PC sitting on the desk next to my Mac and can access that way, but I'd like to access via Mac if possible.... any suggestions?

When you click on a link that is a pdf, on my system, it downloads it to a folder I have specified in the Firefox preferences, and then launchers the helper application to read it. In my case that is Acrobat, but you could select Acrobat Reader, or Preview, etc.

Thanks, Peter... I could have swore I thanked you a few days ago, but I must have hit the wrong button...

BTW, they were downloading directly to my desktop, then opening a blank browser window. The blank window confused me... too much PC, not enough Mac, I guess....
