  1. Smile How Do I Get Certified

    I am a member of the PPA, and I want to become a CERTIFIED PHOTOGRAPHER. What are the steps I need to take to get certified?

    Thanks,
    Chris

    Take off all your clothes, and run around in the center of town crowing like a rooster and flapping your arms like wings. Oh, not that kind of certified. Nevermind.

    I think we must be related...that's the first thing that came to my mind.

    You must go through the PPA office. After the application, there is an exam being given in New Hampshire April 22. It's NOT corrected on site; PPA handles all the details. Call the toll free number! Or visit ppa.com

    It's an engineering thing, isn't it?

    Default Liaisons ...

    Hi Christopher;

    You will find a list of liaisons for each state on the PPA site. If your profile had what state you were in, maybe one of us is close enough to you. I'm the C.P.P. liaison for Pennsylvania. I gave it at our February meeting and will be giving it the 1st day of our annual state convention Sunday April 22nd.

    There are two parts to getting certified. You will need to submit twenty 8X10's representing a cross-section of your work. If you do 50% weddings, you would show 10 wedding images. If you do 20% kids, you would submit 4 children's portraits. So you submit by what percentage of each type photos you do.

    If you are close enough to Harrisburg, Pennsylvania and want to take it from me in April or at the next meeting in June ... let me know. Either e-mail floryphotog@mindspring.com or call (717) 838-9087 .
