Pictures in threads?

OK... first time posting here. How do I include a picture in the thread so that it can be seen along with the thread? Are there certain size requirements or file types?

you can use the "manage attachments" button (under additional options when you're typing a post in the detailed edit mode) -- file size limit is about 48 KB.

Or... you can upload an image to your website (or a host site) and then display it like this:

[ IMG ] http://www.mysite.com/images/test.jpg [ /IMG ]

(without the spaces of course)

If you're resizing in photoshop -- when you save for web, make sure to adjust the resolution lower for web viewing... I was able to create this example image, 400x272 pixels at 14KB. in the save for web view -- when you have the 4 image copies showing... there is a spot that tells you the approximate file size. I usually make it a tad smaller than 48 just so i don't have to resize again (notice the image says 12.63 kb but the actual file is ~14).

you can resize the image and then drop the quality so that the trade-off keeps the file around the KB limit
