First check ...
Hi Jackie; I'd suggest that you first find the web site for the prof. photog. assn. for Illinois. Then, see what regional that Illinois is part of. ( for example, I'm in Pennsylvania and we are part of Mid-East Regional) I think this is the web site for Illinois group ... http://www.appillinois.org/ . You might also see if your state has smaller photog. groups too. Here is Pa. there are about 4 or 5 and all have print competitions. Keep in mind that only blue ribbons from PPA or a regional count towards Master. ( if you get an 80 at a regional you just send it to PPA competition and it automatically get an 80 there)
I hope this helps. D. Craig Flory PPA Certified
P.S. ... we do allow out of state non-members in our state competitions ... in April. www.ppaofpa.org OR www.ppofpa.org

If you have any questions about entering drop me a line, I would be happy to try to help. The first time is usually the hardest
It is so worth the effort. I have found print competition to be invaluable to my photographic education.

Jackie,
You can find your local and state affiliate.
http://www.ppa.com/files/public/AFFLDIR.pdf
There are opportunities to compete at local, state, regional and
National http://ppa.com/i4a/pages/index.cfm?pageid=38
Don Mitchell midsierra@d-web.com can give you information on the 2006 print competition. I have volunteered as a print handler in San Diego for the past 3 years. It’s a great experience! Room and meals are included for volunteers.
