You can subscribe to both a forum topic or a thread in a forum. When you are in a forum, click the Forum Tools link and select the subscribe option. To subscribe to a message thread, open that thread, and click on Thread Tools.

Greg I know this is old but I do have a question. Is there a way for any thread that I reply to, to automaticly become one that I am subscribed to?

Automatic subscriptions
in the Edit Options section of the User CP functions, change your default Thread Subscription mode to Instant, Daily or Weekly notification.
