I just booked for that hotel. Now looking for a woman photographer to split the room with. So I can take public transit for $2.50 and in 20 minutes it will drop me off at this hotel? This hotel is right were Coke and the aquarium are located?

It looks like public transportation aka MARTA is the best way to get from the airport to the convention center.

The Aquarium and Coke are all said to be within walking distance and the convention center is pretty much adjacent to/across the street from the Omni. If you have Google earth (a free program) you can check it out and get a very good idea of the layout of the area.

I am considering the Omni and staying fewer days or possibly the Fairfield in on Peach Tree St and staying longer. I have been trying to lowball Priceline with no luck so far. The Priceline downtown zone goes as far south as Turner field, so there is a chance of being stuck way out of the way with the "name your own price" bidding.

Everything in Atlanta is on Peactree Street - or I should say, A Peachtree Street - Northeast, Northwest, Southeast, Southwest, North, South, East, West - you name it - a very confusing place to drive.

we got the Holiday Inn downtown on Peachtree & Andrew Young from Hotwire for $69. It's a few blocks, but no further than any other hotel we've stayed at

I may have to check the Holiday Inn, too! I was tickled when I saw that I can take the bus (megabus.com) from Jacksonville to ATL for only $6. I was going to drive, but $100+ over 4-5 days for parking is INSANE!
