    The first question could become an issue in the future. We old geezers who were raised with cameras that had f-stops engraved on the lens barrels have a set of "standard" f-stops similarly engraved in our brains.

    But new kids who may have only known f-stops by what they see on LCD screens may indeed have abnormalities like "f/9" and such. Heck, I set my camera to only show me 1/2 stop increments, mainly because I can deal with half stops, but I'm not interesting in dealing with third-stops (and it makes little difference in accuracy).

    I know, Kirk. You're right that the half life for that question may not be all that long.
