Hi all,
Does anyone know of a photographer who has successfully passed the image portion of CPP using animal (and pet) and landscape images only? I would love to speak with them privately about this.
Thanks!
Marie

Marie,
I don't know of anyone who has. But I can tell you....
It's extremely difficult to get CPP with landscape because most photographers are not paid/commissioned to take landscape. Most are made then sold. This take out of the realm of being a customer image. Even if the client is paying you to take several properties in several sessions IE: a landscaping company ... you may only use one photo per client in your port. Not one per session.
If you are going to do animals you need to be top notch ... they can't look like the pictures average pet owner takes. There must be directional light and all of the others judges look for in any client image.
That being said there are some extremely talented pet photographers who are top in their field here who could guide you further.
My portrait endorsement (when CPP still had endorsements) was 100% pets.
*blush* :)
Don't go there with landscapes. It just looks looks like you ran out of client work. See my tips for image submissions in the sticky section of Certification.
Thanks everyone!
Thanks, Michael-unfortunately thats where I'm making the most money right now.
Just thinking, maybe I will focus on PPA Masters Degree instead of CPP. The majority of my photography business income is from Landscape with a little bit of Pet Portraiture mixed in.
I believe you need to hold certification before degrees now. Michael - is that still right?

Hello Marie-
Working on your Certification and Master's concurrently is very possible. Both have similar goals and can be accomplished without interfering with each other.
I believe you are capable to do so.
Good Luck!
