Thanks for all the feedback on my last post. It was most helpful. I thought I would post another composite and see what you guys think. Now that I look at this, I am not sure the tribal designs in the bg really add to the image. In fact, it might even be a little distracting.

All these images were shot in studio on a roll of seamless.

I agree the designs are distracting especially when looking at it as a competition image. I like the action but the lighting is pretty flat. Having nice directional lighting would add a lot of depth to the image and shape to his face. JMO Keith

Hi Terry;

Keith nailed it. You used 1:1 lighting (the same as I.D. cards) and it would have worked a lot better with at least a 3:1 ratio. Shadows are your friend. They make a person look three dimensional ... on a two dimensional piece of paper.
