Hey Guys,

I am trying to finalize my case for this year. Any suggestions or critique welcome, I have a very thick skin and I do not want to submit anything that isn't a possible merit (Posted in lower post) Thanks in advance!

Okay, the quality of the images is terrible. Any tips on uploading so they don't lose quality?

Just FYI - Southwest District Judging is over for this year - it was held back in September. It will be held the last weekend in September and the first few days of October again in 2012. What District are you finalizing your case for???

Rick~ I am Southwest district. I know they decided to have thier competition in October and it kind of threw off the timing this year. Since I am unsure if whether I am going to wait and do district later this year or if I will just go from State to IPC I thought it best to be safe. It is a tough decision.

Amy~Thanks! I think I figured it out with your suggestion.

Trying again..... (again, thick skinned) Thanks!

This week I am trying to finalize my case for my local affiliate (Colorado) competition which is next month. In reviewing this year's competition dates I have decided to forego district and go straight to this years State.

So any hard critiques or opinions not Colorado affiliate or IPC appreciated. THANKS!!

take my opinion with a grain of salt :)

my favorite are the bike and the guy. While I like the other images and you did a pretty darn good job dropping the subject in, something just feels 'off'. There is a lack of believability. I may not be the best at explaining what I mean :/ I love the soft airy feel of the images. I think you did a wonderful job with the wings and watercolor 'fairy tale' look :0)

Amy,

Thank you so much for taking the time to look and respond. I have been going back and forth since my mentoring session at Imaging and truth be told I may be close to going mad. Darn competition addiction! LOL

Believe it or not, the only "drop in image" is the last one (baby) and I completely agree with you. I have been going back and forth on that one mainly because others have really liked it, I guess I just needed someone to validate how I was feeling about it. ;)

Thanks again. I am off to keep chugging away at this.

I hear ya, trust me! I'm in the same boat making myself crazy. Our state comp images are due Friday and I still have 2 left to select and print. Ugh.

Maybe it is the contrast difference? Again, I am no expert! The girl in the dark outfit is dark where the background is more pastel.

The first fairy image her tones match the tones in the background very well. My only issue is her feet draw my attention and that is what made it look dropped in to me. I can't quite get a feel of what she is standing on.

I do love both of these images though, really. I make no claim on how they would score, just wanted to give you a few things I noticed :)

good luck, can't wait to here how you do!

Friday?!? In that case you might make it to the mad house before me. ;) I think you have two solid images in the ones you posted here.

I see what your saying. Since I shot it I know the back story per say and it is sometimes hard to remember that those who view the images do not; that is why I appreciate the feedback. Perhaps I can figure out a fix.

Thank you again!

Any other feedback or title help is welcome. State is the beginning of march and I am having commitment issues. Thanks!
