If you have any candid snapshots of Forum members from the convention - here's a place to post them !!!

I'll start it off with these ...
Joe and Mary Jean Campanellie, Ed Sharp and Greg Yager.

I don't look too bad there Rick. Love the shot of Ed. I'll post some once I make it home. Driving through Memphis now.

(but officer I'm not texting while driving. I'm posting on a forum)

Thanks for posting those Rick, it's hard to believe IUSA has come and gone already. To your credit you have made me look slightly thinner in that shot ( the magic of short lighting) lol. As always it was an honor to be part of the team.

A few random photos.

This is a bluegrass band we came across performing in the street. We enjoyed them so much we left a nice tip and bought their CD.

Thanks for posting those Greg. Now I see what I missed by not checking my phone messages that day you all went out on the town, love the street scenes. It's great to see the familiar faces again. I still have the metal photo of those three cameras/photographers all perfectly lined up to take my photo for my VIP moment lol.

Thousands of professional photographers from all over the world gathered together under one roof in a truly unique city and we barely have a dozen pictures to show for it? Really?!

I missed all of you present, but have some decent iPhone images, from around the city, to download.

The "must see" Cafe du Monde was so crowded, that I went to the take-out window and sat in sun on the steps overlooking park. Cafe is on very right.

Now that's what I call a long line George!

It's always crowded down there. That's why most of the locals go to the Morning Call in Metairie or to the local Tastee Donut Shop when they want Beignets.

Now that's what I call a long line George!

Line was far longer a while before that iPhone pic! No way was I waiting in lines! Around back, even if the take-out line is long, a waitstaff brought a client an order, and I took his lead for my order!

I can upload a few added images, after I download from iPhone to an external drive. I started to login from my iPhone ~ very troubling.

Walking back from there on other side, I struck a conversation with a man who seemed to be helping the carriage drivers; he was "managing" the company from which they work. He runs client credit cards, (the drivers cannot) which is what I was interested in his processing. He commented that a long line forecasts a good day for carriage business!

Thanks for posting the photos Amy, I am just greatfull I am not drinking coffee while reading the forum this morning. Not many people can make green hair work, but Greg knows how to own it Lol.

Mountain Dew - Ahhhhh that explains it - Caffeine overdose !!!
I wonder if it would help my hair ... nah ... beyond help...

Great pics guys! Most of mine are of the same group of people, so they'd just be duplicates. However, I did get a few on my walk on Friday that I'll post. Soon!

Yet another reason why OurPPA is so awesome is we can go back and look at classic threads like this one!
Will the green hair return to IUSA?:D

I was wondering why we never get a group shot of all the IPC set up people?

Rick_Massarini
01-11-2013, 08:31 PM
I'll put that on my list of things to try to do this year. We never did it in the past because when we first get together to start setting up, we're all focused on the task at hand - then, as we reach the end, when just about everything is done and it's just the final few cleanup and fine tuning of the display left, most of the people drift away to get dinner or meet friends so at the end it's just a couple of us left setting up the last few parts of the displays, getting the signs up, moving the crates back to storage, and stuff like that. maybe we can do a group shot right after our noon organizational meeting before we actually start setting up the exhibit - but we gotta get somebody to bring a real camera - all I'm bringing is a point-and-hope.

We had a couple of group shots of print crew last year(Atlanta), but I don't remember seeing them posted, did I miss that?

There was only one photo and it was taken by Gregory Castillo. Greg was one of the Photography students from Gwinnett Tech.

Actually, the image was from Greg's camera, but I think the photo was actually taken by Dave Huntsman...
