We're in a camper and looking for a place to shower in New Orleans this weekend

Hello!

I know this is random but in the spirit of Couch Surfing (http://http://www.couchsurfing.org) we figured we'd give it a shot.

A friend and myself are coming to New Orleans for Imaging USA (so excited). We will be traveling and sleeping in a Honda Element Ecamper (http://www.ursaminorvehicles.com/camper.htm) but wanted to find a spot that we could shower at and get cleaned up relatively close to the convention center (900 Convention Center Boulevard New Orleans, LA 70130).

Are you somewhat close to the convention center? Are you available to allow us to quickly shower and get cleaned up one of those nights? Any time would be much appreciated.

I'm not going to IUSA, but I know that there are a lot of YMCAs that will let you shower for a small fee. Also check to see if there's a nearby truckstop. They have free showers. Some options in case you don't hook up with someone.

You might be able to find a truck stop on the west side of the river. If you don't hook up with someone please do not use the camper downtown to sleep in. That would be tantamount to falling asleep in the trunk of your car next to the Jersey river. Take I-10 to Metairie (about a 13min drive) you'll find the hotels to be a lot more reasonably priced.

Any truck stop I've been in charges for showers. They all seem to be inexpensive.

Of course, if it's not a Saturday night you may not need a shower...:D

Vance, what is a "Jersey river"?

I've tire-tubed the Delaware and that is a major river between PA and NJ. It was a fabulous time!
