I have entered several albums in our State competitions.
Have done well!
Illustrative landscapes!
Want to enter a couple albums for the International Competition!
Wondering if any Judges on this forum can tell me what you look for in an album?
How many Images? I usually use 20! Is less better?
Does every image need to be merit quality?
Please post any helpful information!
Thanks!
Bob

Bob,
I had heard from someone that the average Loan album is between 16 and 18 pages. I had what I thought was a solid album, and it did not merit on the weakness of a couple of images. I thought that the strength of a bunch of images would carry it. It did not. I would tell you that if you have 15 merit worthy images, that it would score higher than 20 images with 5 being less than strong. Only show your best.

bob,
I shoot a fair amount of landscape and wildlife during the year. I like to enter some of that in my world as it is a love of mine. That being said, I have so many images that I would like to enter, that I choose to put them into an album. I also like to enter client work, so it does not leave me a lot of entries!

If you have a theme, for for it. Keep in mind that you have to work up a lot of images to get to that point!
