I figured 5 blocks isn't all that far so i went with the Holiday Inn. Now to figure out if I want to make a 16 hour drive or just catch a plane.

And if you're in NJ...Maryland is just around the corner.

Sure thing Joe. I'll be the guy in the purple vw bus with peace signs all over it.

If 16 hours, I'd drive, definitely, given airline situations! From KY! I may take a route from Northeast to my sister's in Annapolis, MD, to another relative's just south of Sarasota, FL, to friend's in western FL panhandle, and then to TX! However, I may change my mind as I have miles/points enough for no-charge flight!

save your miles for personal travel, imaging expenses are deductible.

Check the rates on flights on Southwest Airlines - they have a sale on right now and are offering a $59 rate one way anywhere they fly - so a round trip ticket would cost you $118. It'll cost you more than that in gas one way! I checked my flight and the same round trip flight from New Orleans that I booked two weeks ago for $239 is now available for $59 each way or $118 round trip - half the price of what I paid - and my ticket is non refundable. Check Southwest NOW before you make the decision. You can't beat those kind of rates.

We never had a VW bus...but when my wife was an art student she had this customized VW bug with a flowered interior and she had taken out the back seats to haul her art projects around in.

I don't have a VW bus yet but the wife has it on my list of things to do. She's in love with those things(the old ones). I told her I would have to buy a complete set of tools to carry with it just to keep it running on trips. This did not sway her one bit. It will fit our personalities quite well but I don't think I'll be taking it to any weddings.

It would be worth the extra drive to show up in Joe's driveway in one though:D
