Can someone recommend a good place to buy a case for submitting competition prints?

It's been a while since I bought my cases, but I know Showcase photo in ATL used to carry them, I used to work there. Their # is 800-886-1976, ask for Ron.

Or Dury's in Nashville may carry them as well. 800-824-2379, ask for Robert.

Both places are great to deal with.

If you're fine with 16x20 max print size, I may have an extra lying around somewhere that I'd be willing to sell.... let me know and I will see if I can find it.

That would be great Betsy. Let me know if you find it. Otherwise I'm gonna call the store in Atlanta that Cheri suggested.

B&H Photo and Adorama carry some too. Not high end, but I bought one and it seems to work fine.

The cases I've found have a place for shipping labels. Do most people ship them utilizing this or do they put the case in a plain box for shipping?

i like everyone affixes a label to the case and ships.
Secure the straps with strong packing tape.

Hi Greg, I was able to find it. I actually have two...

One is a Tenba Airbook (http://www.archivalmethods.com/Product.cfm?categoryid=40&Productid=167) - originally $200 new,... in very good condition (only shipped once or twice in this one). Maybe $100 for it incl. cost to ship to you? (OBO)

The other one is an older Tenba shipping case, of similar design, with a smaller clear plastic window for inserting shipping slip ...as well as place to affix shipping label. Most times I've used this one, they affix the shipping label directly to the plastic window instead of using the "proper" shipping label spot.

I'd be willing to part with either, I think... I will say that the Airbook is lighter (so potentially less cost to ship once prints are in it).

Regarding your shipping question ...when I ship my cases (using FedEx) -- they typically attach a shipping label to the handle. When it comes back from print comp... that's when there is the sticker shipping label attached. :)
