Nah, I can't tell you. That's Jeff's news to share, I'll just say one of his scores did have three digits in it.

Well, I'm gonna hate Jeff for all the intrigue! Scores please!

What a great thread, Keith. I was thinking the same thing earlier today.

It's now officially a love-hate relationship with Jeff.

I am not surprised at all, he is GOOD!

Three digits ? Wow, usually the judges don't go below 50 so a score of 000 is a bit harsh. LOL

How foolish will Jeff feel if he scored an 4 81's.

Don_Chick
09-14-2009, 05:22 PM
I can't believe he hasn't told you yet?

Once he can get away from the crowd of adoring fans I'm sure he'll post something.... but it was a big crowd!

I've got "I hate Jeff and his case" T-shirts in stock, anyone want one?

You don't suppose this site gets into a bit of idolatry do you?

Linda_Gregory
09-14-2009, 06:01 PM
We are not idolizing Jeff, we are wanting his scores. he seems to get large numbers with hate so we're trying it on.

Jeff only entered one print. The other 3 were albums. If you go near his case you will run afoul of the Endangered Marine Mammals act.

This is Holly typing for Keith. Rick is right - Jeff and Keith are off playing together. Jeff flew into Denver last night, Keith picked him up and they are up in the mountains photographing trees and stuff. They finally drove into a spot with cell signal and Keith called me. Jeff said to post his results for him. His scores were 100 on an album from the Montana trip he and Keith took in Jan of 2008. Under the circumstances Keith is making Jeff leave his lens cap on for the trip they are on right now. Jeff also got a 92 on his portrait of a dog, a 92 on a multimaker album with Carolle of a trip to Maine, and an 84 on a multimaker wedding album, again with Carolle from a destination wedding in I believe in Mexico. When Keith called me Jeff was talking to Carolle on his phone. She went to the PPANE awards banquet tonight. Jeff recieved the Master's Court of Honor for his Montana album as well as the ASP regional medallion and 2 judges ribbons from Helen Yancy and Jill Saunders. He also recieved the LexJet award for best color portrait for his dog print.

I am also supposed to tell Marc Benjamin that Keith already has an "I hate Jeff" t-shirt and he was wearing it when he picked Jeff up last night.

The boys will be playing in Colorado through Wednesday.

I was manning the scoring machine for that competition, so I saw the judge's individual scores. For the Montana album, the first round of scoring he averaged a 93. 2 judges scored it 100, and one of them challenged. The 2nd score was 4 100's and one 98 - it averaged 100, but to score 100, it has to be unanimous. So they talked about it again - and of course the 3rd round it was all 100's. Helen Yancy was moved to tears - as were most of us. It was a magnificent album. The Maine album was beautiful, too. I am so happy for Jeff (and Carolle too). I wish I could have stayed for the banquet to see them get their awards.

I'm going to have to agree - he's not an easy person to hate! Neither is Keith, but I hate them both for playing with their cameras in Colorado without the rest of us!

I agree...playing in Colorado would be great right now.

Considering his scores I think we need a new rule...Jeff can't hate his case anymore...!

Lori_Clapp
09-15-2009, 06:52 PM
Maybe we can let him hate it until he scores four 100's, then he has to start loving it every year!

Rick_Massarini
09-16-2009, 06:20 AM
Let's see.. 100 + 92 + 92 + 84 = a 368 case and a 92 Average !!!
Awww...... Poor Little Bunny... Go hate your case !!!

Joe_Campanellie
09-16-2009, 02:14 PM
Yeah...it's hard to feel for the guy with scores like that.

Great scores.

I am home from Jeff & Keith's Excellant Adventure. I want to reassure everyone that I made Jeff kept his lens cap on this trip. On the few where he sat on me so I couldn't hold the cap on the lens, I kicked the tripod leg during the exposure. Once I turned my back and he snuck one off but I quickly stepped into the edge of the frame so I think I got that one screwed up too. Although maybe he will enter it anyway and title the print " The Ellusive Big Foot" We got a total of 11 hours of sleep over three nights, so most of his files should be out of focus anyway.

lol Linda! I feel the same way.

Jeff really is a great guy though. And a great teacher. Now if I could just remember everything he taught me, I might just be able to hate my case as much as he does...oh, in about 50 years, if I'm lucky. ;):D

Micheal,
Chill! This is a joke. Jeff gets it and so do the rest of us. We are just having a good time celebrating his accomplishments. If you knew him as well as I do do you would understand how much he enjoys a good joke, especially with a little sarcasim. If we really didn't like him or were jealous, we would just ignore him.

Says the 2009 Canon winner, "Um, I was kidding". I was only Platinum this year so I can see how my comments were taken seriously. . .

I got a pin with the camera and lens. Oh, and a crystal. . . . I don't hate me either. Still kidding, but seriously, I still like Jeff too.

Congratulations Jeff! This is certainly a well deserved award or should I say, several awards. Very impressive. I didn't see anyone ask, but is it going to be possible to see the album and the images as you presented them? Any way to show them here?

Hey Ron,
Thanks so much! I might be able to show them shortly. I know that many have expressed a concern about showing sealed imagery as it can taint the panel when it comes to nationals. I do want to show it though as it might be educational to some. I personally had never seen a 100 anywhere!!

Whew! It is pretty amazing to me!!!

Barton and Metcalfe:
I wasn't even able to see the album judging. It was a drag, I think I would have cried though sitting in the room. When I found out, I was pretty emotional. When you pour so much into one piece, and then have it recognized, it is quite a moment. You both should try it some time....

Thanks Jeff. Maybe there would be a way to show them in a private gallery or through your website so it wouldn't be out in the open where judges might see.

One day I'll enter! You gonna post the album? A 100 on a print is extremely impressive. A 100 on an album is even cooler. Enjoy the moment, but understand you have even bigger things to come! That's the best part of it all.

Micheal,
Thanks so much! It is really humbling to think about! Lets hope this is the first of 25 100 scores! Lets hope my education, and knowledge grows each year so that I can truly strive for a 100 print.

Thanks again.

I hate to put in a moment of sincerity but it is truly cool to know someone with your drive and aspirations. I truly believe that the first step to doing something great is, well, deciding to do something great. It is infectious and if you think about it, it's a tremendous resource to have access to that.

Now, don't screw it up! Ha. And I need mention I have a few trips planned for US coming up.
