Hi George, welcome to the forum!

The recommended text for exam study is Barbara London's Photography (9e). There used to be a number of supplementary books on the list as well (you can find those listed here: http://learnwithbetsy.com/certification). At that link, you'll also find links to the Photography 9e and 8e online quizzes and tests -- I found those very helpful as I studied for the exam.

Hi George;

I got your e-mail and called Marisa Pitts at PPA. I don't think you are a member of PPA. (Professional Photographers of America) That will make a difference on the fee. If you are a member it is $100.00 and that gives you up to 2 years to pass the exam as well as have 20 of your images also pass. If not a member it is $500.00. (so, it is less to join & then pay the $100.00)

I went to your web site and was impressed with what I saw. The exam is only given in the USA so you would have to travel to the USA to take it. (I gave the exam to a photographer from the Dominican Republic last year) The images can be uploaded on the net so that can be done from your country. Besides places like I give the exam, it is also given at the PPA Convention. Here is the web site for certification: http://certifiedphotographer.com/

I will tell you that one of the best photographers I ever took a seminar with was originally from Romania. His name was Tibor Horvath and he was living in Canada at the time.
