The Spirit and the Soul Workshop series is now scheduled for 2009. You can now register online! Go to www.meritageonmain.com/photographers.html (http://www.meritageonmain.com/photographers.html) for registration and more info.

Of particular interest has been the "Transformation" 3 day workshop. First session is in March, just before the April Western State competition. The April session is just right for the May 1 PPA deadline. These workshops fill fast and are limited to 6 students.

"Zen of Photography" is a new method of learning the basics of photography. This course is 2 days and is perfect for those who are preparing for their Certification.

"Spirit and the Soul" is our baby, and it is now a 5 day course which includes photo tours through the Napa/Sonoma wine country and inspirational excursions at art galleries. Lots of creative "hands on" projects that will help you bring your work beyond "the next step". This is where you will learn your full creative potential.

PPA merit is included in all courses.

The April session has some openings left. This course is perfectly timed for the upcoming PPA print submission deadline which is May 1. We will discuss ways to improve your images for competition, as well as help you discover your own path to your quest for your Masters degree.

Zen of Photography April 5,6 - is a two day course of learning the basics of photography in an entirely different way. This is not the usual cut and dry learning of f-stops and shutter speeds, but rather, a learning experience of being "at one" with your camera. All the work is hands on photo safaris in the beautiful Sonoma wine country and the coast. You will learn how to make your camera an "extension of your hand" so that you can concentrate on the power of intention in creativity. This is an excellent course for those who are going for certification because this course will teach you actual practical applications for why you should have a working knowledge of these skills. Tuition includes your stay and meals at the Retreat and includes a PPA merit.

The Spirit and Soul July 12 workshop now includes Room and Board! Only 6 spaces available at the retreat (additional fee to stay off premises). Here's our Itinerary:

12 - welcome reception. The day will be spent on learning how to get out of "creative blocks". We will orient you to the daily exercises as part of the creative process.

13 - Field Trip Safari #1 - textural photography for photoshop layering. We will spend part of the day in the nearby town of Tomales. We will also spend some time on the beach in the late afternoon, er, early evening to create photos during the sunset with a model (or more).

14 - Field Trip Safari #2 - Photo excursion to 2 wineries. Yeah, wine tasting planned (auto focus is a good thing) with an "Italian Picnic". One winery is also an Art Gallery. They have a yearly art competition for the artists work to be on their labels. This is in the Sonoma wine country.

15 - Photoshop and Painter time! We'll help you "let it all hang out" beyond what you thought your personal capabilities are. This is a soul releasing experience.
