Some time ago one of our members here posted a website address where you could watch video of a regional Print Competition. It was a very valuable tool for those contemplating entering prints.

Does anyone have that website info and if so could you post it please??

Thanks very much.:)

Hi Honey;

Here is the path to the Blue Ribbon Images in 2007 from the PPAofPa. It looks like all the other archived slide shows have been removed. I hope this helps.

Thank you so much Craig.

We have some new members in our section of PPSNYS who haven't seen a competition yet. They are thinking of entering our local and this will give them some idea of how Merit Prints look.

Saw yours in there. Very nice.

Affiliated Competitions cannot be videotaped per a new PPA-PEC rule. Non affiliated competitions can be videotaped, but not PPA regionals.

Thanks Rick.

I hadn't heard of that rule change. Glad you posted.

Was there rationale given as to why they banned video?

Clips were being taken out of context were you had what appeared to be a juror's comment but it was only a bit of the comment so the meaning was totally different. When in a challange situation those in favor talk about the positives and those against talk about the problems, so if you have people taking things out of context then the meanings totally change and that is not the intent of competition. It is really sad that a few bad apples spoil the resource for the rest.

Thank you for explaining Keith.

It is sad that this great opportunity has been spoiled by some. For many who hadn't seen a live print judging, it was a way to see how it all works. Having watched several regional competitions, I know what a great an educational experience it can be.

Also, some trouble maker could/would potentially add pop ups (Ala vh1 pop up videos) to make things a little funnier.

All that aside, I think that rational is kinda weak compared to the benefits.
