My calendar says I was born on 10/26 at 3:00pm.
Years ago I was told to take day off on birthday?
I was to go to Karsh exhibit in Boston!

George,
good to see you this weekend. You should celebrate your birthday by freeing yourself of desiging things in photoshop, and come over to the indesign side!
BTW, you look pretty good for 85.

Cindi,
You should come for a visit!! You can go to Mark's program on Monday as well. Just think you would end up with two more merits for your degree.

George (and Cindi) - if you've ever got something back from the printer and said to yourself "hmm... this doesn't look the way I thought it would", then this is for you.

If you come, George, I'll bring cake. :)

Since I have ID and have never used it I wish I could come Steff :( I am sure it would be an excellent class!

I'm checking out flights tonight... Wish me luck cause I'll need a cheap one... If anyone is up for puttin' a gal up for the night please let me know!

I'm in the process of starting up my own magazine so the budget is on LOCK DOWN, but I can only imagine how helpful this will be and really want to come :-)

Hey Cindi...FYI the hotel across the street from Jeff's is pretty reasonable and pretty nice. Wish I could come and split the cost with you.

Cindi, heck, I'll split the cost with you. :)

Ok, since this is my favorite forum ... you guys get to request what you want me to show you how to do in InDD. What templates would you like for FREE???

Thanks Steff, I'll keep you posted! How about a pretty cool tri-fold?

Stephanie_Millner
09-18-2008, 08:28 PM
absolutely. those are tricky. Did you know that roll-folding (the tech term for a tri-fold) needs to have un-even gutters and a wider trim on one side than the other when you set it up? everything is off by 1/16 of an inch if you were to measure one.

So, that's why mine was not so good, once!
I was making a few text changes for a few years, making PDF, and going to Staples for print & fold.

I am not really a cake person, but others may like.

Thanks, you just wait!
I can still drive, ski, sail, walk w/o help, use a camera (35mm, 6x6cm, 4x5, DSLR, etc.)! Optemologist said my eyes are healthy, yesterday!
The year, which I did not write, is irrelevant!

Stephanie_Millner

Well, George that's probably a different reason... Staples uses copiers - the gripper edge alternates, which makes for a difficult folding job in the first place. If you're using a copier to set up a print job, give yourself 1/2" margins, and 1" gutters.

How about cupcakes then?

Wish I could come too! My travel budget is nil at the moment though. How about a DVD, Steph?! :)

Ahhhhh another victim of the Adobe Creative Suite Package I suppose...

See, you should come and then learn InDesign and not fall victim to Adobe's diabolical plot.

Seriously, InDesign is the most useful of all the Adobe programs. And yes, I'm including Photoshop when I say that.

Cindi,
Mark's state of the art facility is located about 16 miles south of my studio. That is why it is ideal for you to come up!!! It is so close!
