Need to start working working up the contrast for starters. Needs more shadow detail. Pupils need definition. Eyes like that are not clean. Put the vein detail back in if it's there. That'll do for starters...

Hi Stewart,
I reallly like this character study. I love the texture in his face. I like the bumped up contrast too. One thing that happened though, in making it more contrasty, now the brightest part of the image is his beard on the right hand side. I think the eyes should be the center of interest. Now that's just my opinion and I think it looks good as it is. Is this for PPA nationals?

yes it is for nationals
on the side of the face because every thing is layers i can mask it out and bring the white down a little
