Hi Noelle;

Wow, that is sooooo great !!! Ok, now you will start having lots of people asking YOUR advice on here. I am officially jealous. I'll be going up during the awards banquet at our October Convention but only to get my 2nd bar for my Pa. State Service Award and not for terrific scores like yours.

Heidi, this was my very first competition and I nagged alot of people for advice about my images. I really appreciate all the advice I have been given, it really helped.

Thanks everyone! I am still floating on air. I cannot believe I will have two blue ribbons to hang in my studio. I am glad I can share my happiness with all of you because you all know what this means to me personally and it can only help me improve and hopefully inspire others to enter competitions:)

Congratulations! Did you sit through judging? I went to my first comp at SWPPA and my heart was in my throat every time one of my prints turned.

Angushed solitude is a very powerful image.

Hi Noelle;

It's fun to sit in and watch IF your images do well. Last fall we had our annual 8X10 competition here in Pennsylvania. For the portrait category, it came down to my image and one other. (the other photographer was in the room I came to find out later) The judges did a thumbs up for the other image and then for mine and mine won. My heart was in my throat and I was elated when I won but I'm sure it was agony for the other maker. So it can be the Thrill of Victory or the Agony of Defeat when you sit and watch.
