Okay here's how they were scored:
Uh Oh! 80 Blue!!!
Double Trouble 79 Red Val told me this one was a Blue so I'm asking questions.
Southern Charm 79 Red
Dreaming of Tomorrow 78

I would bet that the two 79's would merit at Nationals, but I'd still like to know what the judges had to say. Understand that a 79 means 4 could have voted it to be an 80 and one gave it a 78 or 79. A majority of thumbs up at Nationals will get it over the hump.

Dianna I am so happy for you! First time out and you did well. Like Dave said I would like to hear what the judges had to say and then move on to getting them ready for Daytona. Really really happy for you.

Dianna - Great job! congrats! Did you only enter 3? Are you happy?

[QUOTE=DiannaAllen;134498]Okay here's how they were scored:
Sorry someone walked in before I could finish:
Full Moon at Dusk 78
Snow Princess 77
THANKS TO ALL THAT GAVE ME FEEDBACK TO HELP ME GET THEM READY TO ENTER.
I was not able to attend so I don't know what the judges had to say. Any suggestions on how I can find out?

Nice work Dianna, Congrats!
I love "Uh Oh!" and "Snow Princess"

Congrats Dianna! I sat through the entire judging so I did get commentary on the bird pic. It was challenged and then discussed. Want me to email you?

I would wait and take your prints to your next regular state meeting. Try taking aside as many Masters, as possible, for an impromptu critque.

one blue is better then most people get the first time out.
all your other prints scored in the high 70's so your on the right track.
if you don't have anything else to submit, send the 4 highest scoring prints to national-a different panel of judges might score them higher.
it's really a **** shoot, when your at 78 & 79's.

I hope you build on your results and experience and keep on improving each time you enter.

Dianna- sorry about that. I remembered the discussion and thought it was upped, I sent you what I remembered of it, hopefully Stephanie or Liz will remember more. Congrats on your scores! Fantastic.

Congrats on your scores. First time or no they were great. I received one merit last year at SEPPA and 2 more at Nationals on two different prints. I love your work.

Congratulations! Now to type up your press release!!

Congrats Dianna, how exciting! And you've got time to pull out some more before Nationals when it officially counts. You were so close on some of them that they just might go at Nationals anyway, but it is certainly worth the effort to find out what the judges saw that held them back. In the end, that's where the greatest amount of learning comes from.
Getting over the 79 hump is a major accomplishment and an indication of "outstanding merit" ... thus the name :)

Congrats Dianna! Thanks for posting the images and how they did.

Thanks everyone I am very pleased with my first entry. Now I know why everyone hates the # 79.
Yes Stephanie, I'd love to hear your version of what the judges had to say. I am particularly interested in getting feedback on my bride and snow princess. I've heard a little on the birds from Val. Just PM me.
I'll get to work on that press release right away. Even though I'm sure Shannon Turner will get his out there too. He's such great photographer and just down the road from me. :( Always gets Best in Something!! Of course he is much more high end than me.
Don't know if I have time to get any to SEPPA or not.

I remember seeing most of them, but I think the bride pic must ahve come up before we got there, because I don't remember it. Although there were a few that I missed when I fell asleep. (see Steff's note about the drive, and she left out that we both got about 3 hours of sleep the night before.) I think the only one I remember them talking about was the bird pic. They were nitpicking over the title, since there were 3 birds. Sometimes I think they just don't WANT to get it, because I thought it was pretty obvious what the title meant. :)
Great job, btw! I loved Uh Oh!

Yeah, Dianna!! Great job! Doesn't it feel good to have this first one under your belt??
