Certification Program

The Certified Professional Photographer program is a great tool for marketing yourself. Earning Certification isn’t easy: you have to pass a written test and an image review. Once you have the credential, though, it could be the tie breaker between you and the studio down the street, potentially earning you more business.

Merit & Degree Program

PPA’s Merit & Degree program proves to both photographers and potential clients that you’ve met the high standards of PPA. The degrees are also useful as a tool to explain pricing and hone your skill. Members earn merits for service, instructing, competition, etc., until they achieve a PPA Degree that recognizes their achievements.

Offered to PPA members since 1937, PPA degrees continue as a prestigious sign of advanced education in the industry—a symbol of knowledge and quality to consumers and peers alike.

PPA members can earn any or all of the following degrees:

•      Master of Photography (M.Photog.)
•      Master of Electronic Imaging (MEI)
•      Photographic Craftsman (Cr.Photog.)
