Whether it's a destination wedding or out-of-town clients, there may be times in your career when a hand-signed document is more difficult to obtain. The good news is that there is an alternative: the electronic signature.
As defined by the Uniform Electronic Transactions Act (UETA), an electronic signature is an "electronic sound, symbol or process attached to or logically associated with a record and executed or adopted by a person with the intent to sign the record." In other words, an electronic signature is the digital equivalent of hand signing a document.

Very useful and timely, thanks! This would be so much more efficient than e-mailing a contract and waiting for clients to print, sign, scan, and e-mail back...
