PPA Awards
Honorary Master of Photography Degree (Hon.M.Photog.)
This degree is awarded to individuals who have made significant contributions to the profession and all past presidents of PPA.
National Award
PPA makes this award available to state, regional, national, and international affiliates who may present this coveted honor in recognition of outstanding service to professional photography performed by an individual.
George W. Harris Award
Named in honor of George Harris, a noted Washington, D.C., photographer who earned the first Master of Photography degree, this award is presented to individuals for distinguished service to photography. Mr. Harris specified that "the medal be a token of high esteem to an individual who by his ability, ingenuity, and gracious sharing of his talents has bequeathed to photography an achievement of service of far-reaching value." Only 20 medals were struck. The last of these awards was bestowed in July 2004. It is now retired.
Helen K. Yancy Award
Replacing the George Harris Award, this award is presented to individuals for distinguished service to photography. The award shall be a token of high esteem to an individual who by their ability, ingenuity, and gracious sharing of talents has bequeathed to photography an achievement of service of far-reaching value. The award is not necessarily conferred each year, and a maximum of 25 may be given.
Charles H. (Bud) Haynes Award
